สด sòt How to say fresh (fruit or food) or live or breaking news in the Thai language- Hello everyone,
- In this learn Thai Language lesson, we will learn about the Thai word, “สด” /sòt/
- The word “สด” /sòt/ literally means “fresh” but can be used in other ways too.
- For example:
- ผักสด /pàk-sòt/ = fresh vegetable
- ผลไม้สด /pǒn-la-mái sòt/ = fresh fruit
- ตลาดสด /dtà-làat sòt/ = fresh market
- สดชื่น /sòt chʉ̂ʉn/ = feel fresh
- เบียร์สด /beer sòt/ = draft beer
- But also can used like breaking or live in the following ways:
- ข่าวสด /kàao sòt/ = fresh (breaking) news
- And “สด” /sòt/ can also mean “live”.
- For example:
- ดนตรีสด /don-dtrii sòt/ = live music
- รายการสด /raai-gaan sòt/ = live programme (on TV, radio)
- ถ่ายทอดสด /tàai-tɔ̂ɔt sòt/ = broadcast live
- การแสดงสด /gaan sà-dɛɛng sòt/= live performance

ผมจะรู้สึกสดชื่นเวลาผมกินเบียร์สด /pǒm jà rúu-sʉ̀k sòt-chʉ̂ʉn we-laa pǒm gin beer sòt/ = I feel fresh when I drank draft beer.
ฉันชอบดูทีวีช่องนี้เพราะมีข่าวสดทุกชั่วโมง /chán chɔ̂ɔp duu T.V. chɔ̂ng níi prɔ́ mii kàaw sòt túk chûamoong/ = I like to watch this channel because there is a fresh (breaking) news every hour.
เพื่อนผมชอบไปดูดนตรีสดที่บาร์ทุกคืน /pʉ̂an pǒm chɔ̂ɔp bpai duu dondtrii sòt tîi Bar túk kʉʉn/ = My friend likes to watch live music at a bar every night.
คืนนี้มีถ่ายทอดสดฟุตบอลระหว่างแมนยูกับลิเวอร์พูล /kʉʉn níi chɔ̂ng sǎam jà tàai-tɔ̂ɔt sòt Football rá-wàang Man-U gàp Liverpool/ =Tonight channel 3 will broadcast a live football match between Man United and Liverpool.
