Sawatdii ka

In this lesson, we will learn about the Thai conjunction, แล้วก็ / lɛ́ɛw-gɔ̂/.

ก็เลย /gɔ̂-lәәi/ means and then. The pattern of แล้วก็ / lɛ́ɛw-gɔ̂/. in Thai is:

Subject 1 + Verb + Object + แล้ว (subject2) ก็ / lɛ́ɛw (subject2) gɔ̂/+ V + O

Notice: The subject of the second sentence is in between แล้ว / lɛ́ɛw/ and ก็ /gɔ̂/. In case the subject in the first and the second sentence are the same people, the one in between แล้ว / lɛ́ɛw/ and ก็ /gɔ̂/ can be omitted.
For example:

วันนี้ผมไปโรงเรียนแล้ว (ผม) ก็กลับบ้าน

/wan-nií  pǒm lɛ́ɛw (pǒm) gɔ̂ glàp bâan/

Today I go to school and then I go back.

เมื่อวานเขาไปซื้อของขวัญแล้ว (เขา) ก็ไปงานวันเกิดเพื่อน

/mûa-waan káo bpai súu kɔ̌ɔng-kwǎn lɛ́ɛw (káo) gɔ̂ bpai ngaan wan-gә̀әt pûan/

Yesterday he went to buy a gift and then he went to his friend’s birthday party.

ฉันจะอาบน้ำแล้วก็นอน

/chán jà àap-nám lɛ́ɛw (chán) gɔ̂ nɔɔn/

I will take a shower and then go to bed.
