Floods in Thailand
There have been many serious floods in Thailand, we would like to send our best wishes to everybody who has suffered or is suffering from floods. Please stay safe and strong, we will get through these bad days together.
In this short blog lesson I would like to teach you some interesting Thai vocabulary related to floods.
น้ำท่วม /nám-tûam/ = flood
กระสอบทราย /grà-sɔ̀ɔp-saai/ = sand bag
เขื่อน /kùan/ = dam
คลอง /klɔɔng/ = canal
ระบายน้ำ /rá-baai-nám/ = drain
อาสาสมัคร /aa-sǎa-sà-màk/ = volunteer
สถานการณ์ฉุกเฉิน /sà-tǎa-ná-gaan chùk-chә̌әn/ = emergency situation
บริจาค /bɔɔ-ri-jàak/ = donate
จระเข้ /jɔɔ-ra-kêe/ = crocodile (LOL)
