Thai Omelette with Mince Pork ไข่เจียวหมูสับ(kài jiao mǔu-sàp
In this lesson we will teach you how to cook Thai food. ‘kài jiao’ is often eaten for lunch or dinner. It is not a hot dish and should be served with chilli sauce (sɔ́ɔt prík). This will give the spicy flavour to those who like it.
Ingredients ส่วนผสม sùan-pà-sǒm
- หมูสับ(mǔu sàp) – minced pork
- ไข่ไก่ 2 ใบ(kài gài 2 bai) – 2 eggs
- กระเทียมสับ(grà-tiam sàp) – chopped Garlic
- หอมหัวแดง(hɔ̌ɔm hǔa dɛɛng) – sliced shallot (French or Red Shallots)
- ต้นหอม(dtôn-hɔ̌ɔm) – sliced Spring Onions
- น้ำตาล ½ ช้อนโต๊ะ(nám dtaan ½ chɔ́ɔn) – ½ tbs sugar
- ซอสหอยนางรม(sɔ̀ɔt hɔ̌ɔi naang rom) – Oyster sauce
- น้ำปลา(nám bplaa) – Fish Sauce
Method วิธีทำ wí-tii-tam
- Heat your wok with a little oil on a medium/high heat, and shallots and stir for a minute or so.
Add the garlic and after 30 seconds add the chicken. Stir the chicken constantly breaking up any lumps that form - Add 1 tbs Oyster sauce and a little water to help with the sauce. Remove from heat and reserve
- To make the omelette beat the eggs with a little fish sauce.
- Heat some oil in your wok over a medium heat.
- Add the egg mixture and let it cook, there is no turning of the egg
- Once the egg is just about cooked add your meat mixture to half the omelet, fold the omelet in half and serve.
