Drunk and Hangover

Drunk and Hangover, in this lesson I will teach you how to talk about this in the Thai language.

To say “drunk” in Thai is เมา /mao/

Drunk Phrases

เราดื่มแตไม่เคยเมา /rao dʉ̀ʉm dtɛ̀ɛ mâi kəəi mao/
We drink but never get drunk.

คุณเมาไหม /kun mao mái/
Are you drunk?

เขาเมาแล้ว /káo mao lɛ́ɛo/
He/She is already drunk.

And to say the word “hangover” in Thai is เมาค้าง /mao káang/

Hungover Phrases

ทำไมคุณเมาค้าง /tam-mai kun mao-káang/
Why do you have a hangover?

เมื่อคืนผมดื่มหนัก ก็เลยเมาค้าง /mʉ̂a-kʉʉn pǒm dʉ̀ʉm nàk gɔ̂-ləəi mao káang/
Last night I drank too much, so I got a hangover.

คุณเมาค้างใช่ไหม /kun mao-káang châi-mái/
You have a hangover, don’t you?
