ฝน fǒn |rain

Hi everyone!

It is rainy season again and everyone is running around with umbrellas and talking about when or if it might rain. And when it does rain, it is often very hard for short periods of time so be prepared or be wet 🙂

In this Thai lesson, I have a little vocabulary for the rainy season.

Thai Vocabulary

ฝน /fǒn/  = (n.) rain

ฝนตกหนัก /fǒn-dtòk nàk/ hard rain / raining hard / heavy shower

ฝนตกปรอยๆ /fǒn-dtòk bprᴐᴐi/ = drizzle / soft rain

ฝนลงเม็ด /fǒn long-mét /= starting to rain / light rain

ฝนตก /fǒn-dtòk/  = (v.) to rain

พายุ /paa-yú/  =  storm

ร่ม /rôm/  =  umbrella

เสื้อกันฝน /sᵾ̂a-gan-fǒn/  =  raincoat

อย่าลืมร่มนะคะ /yàa lᵾᵾm rôm ná ká/= Don’t forget umbrella!

I hope you enjoy the rainy season in Thailand and also have fun learning the Thai language.
