เถอะ tùh | Let’s

Hi everyone,

Today we will learn the Thai phrase “เถอะ/tùh/”.  The word “เถอะ/tùh/”  means “Let’s”. We can use this phrase to suggest doing something too. There is another word let commonly use this is ‘gan-tùh’, as in the following examples:

1) ไปเถอะ/bpai tùh/ = Let’s go!

2) ไปกันเถอะ/bpai gan-tùh/ = Let us go!

3) พวกเราไปกันเถอะ/pûak rao bpai gan-tùh/ = Let us go!

4) กินเถอะ/gin tùh/ = Let’s eat!

5) กินกันเถอะ ผมหิวแล้ว/gin gan-tùh pŏm hĭo láeo/ = Let’s eat! I’m hungry already.

6) พวกเรากินกันเถอะ ทุกคนหิวแล้ว/pûak-rao gin gan-tùh túk-kon hĭo láeo/ = Let us eat! Everybody is hungry.
