Hi everyone. In this Thai lesson I would like to teach you some vocabulary about the names family members in Thai.
krͻ̂ͻp-krua / ครอบครัว / = Family
pͻ̂ͻ / พ่อ / = father
mԑ̂ԑ / แม่ / = mother
săa-mii / สามี/ = husband
pan-ra-yaa /ภรรยา / = wife
lûuk /ลูก / = child , kid
lûuk- chaai /ลูกชาย / = son
lûuk –săao /ลูกสาว / = daughter
pîi – chaai /พี่ชาย / = older brother
pîi – săao /พี่สาว / = older sister
nɔ́ɔng – chaai /น้องชาย / = younger brother
nɔ́ɔng – săao /น้องสาว / = younger sister
lung /ลุง / = uncle (parents’ older brother)
bpâa / ป้า / = aunt (parents’ older sister)
náa / น้า / = aunt (mother’s younger sister or brother)
aa / อา / = uncle (father’s younger sister or brother)
lǎan / หลาน / = niece, nephew
lǎan-sǎao /หลานสาว / = niece
lǎan-chaai / หลานชาย / = nephew
bpùu / ปู่ / = grandfather (father’s side)
dtaa / ตา / = grandfather (mother’s side)
yâa / ย่า / = grandmother (father’s side)
yaai / ยาย / = grandmother (mother’s side)
