Thai CongratulationVocabulary from the Land of Smiles Phrases

Sàwàtdii kâ,

In this bite-sized Thai lesson, I will teach you a couple of useful phrases that you can use on many occasions when you would like to congratulate somebody:
To say, “Congratulations!” in Thai is ยินดีด้วย /yin-dii dûay/.

You can add the particle word, นะ /ná/ at the end to emphasize this and now you get ยินดีด้วยนะ /yin-dii dûay ná/.
We can replace the word “ยินดี /yin-dii/” by “ดีใจ /dii-jai/” which means glad or happy.

Then you say ดีใจด้วย /dii-jai dûay/ or ดีใจด้วยนะ/ dii-jai dûay ná/ which mean “I am happy for you!”
Now you can try these phrases with your Thai friends in some delightful occasions!!!

“kun pûut paa- sǎa Thai gèng lɛ́ɛw châi mái? dii-jai dûay ná ká!” ^_^
